Events

Genesis (LAN Gaming)

Event Details:

It is a LAN Gaming Competition. It will take place full day from day 1 till day 2.

Rules and Regulations :

1. The event consists of three games :- Counterstrike, NFS (Most Wanted) and Angry bird.
2. A team of 5 members is must for Counterstrike. There is single entry for NFS & Angry bird.
3. The event will take place at Computer centre (ground floor) at 10:00 am.
4. The decisions of the committee will be final.

Rules for Counterstrike :

1. Competition Method: 5 vs. 5 (5 players per team).
2. Round Time: 1min 45 seconds.
3. The first match is a Knifing round. Both teams drop their guns at base and move towards the center of the map. The team who wins the Knifing round gets to choose which map they want to start off with.
4. In the case of tie after the regulation, 6 extra rounds will be played. (3 rounds as terrorist and 3 round as Counter Terrorist per team)
5. The first team to win 16 rounds in regulation or the team that wins the overtime period.
6. Starting money for an official match must be 800$.
7. D3/AU-1 (G3) for Terrorist and Krieg 550 commando for counter terrorist are not allowed.
8. Scout and Bull pup guns are not allowed.
9. Shields are strictly forbidden from being used for both teams.
10. Don’t use consoles commands during the matches.
11. Few official maps: De_dust2, De_ inferno, De_ nuke, De_ Train.
12. Don’t use Scroll Duck during the matches.
13. Only crosshair, dynamic Crosshair, Speed, Centreid, fastswitch, commands can be used.

Rules & Regulations for NFS :

1. Game Settings: MAPS: – Diamond, Dunwich Bay, Heritage Heights, Bay Bridge, East Park, World Loop (Final).
2. RACE MODE OPTION:
CIRCUIT AND SPRINT

N20: OFF
Collision Detection: OFF
Performance Matching: OFF
Game moment Camera: OFF
Car Damage: OFF
3. ELIMINATION ROUND: 4 Players will play sprint mode and the winner will be qualified to the next round.
4. SEMI FINAL ROUND
Semi Final 1:
Qualifiers will play knockout round in circuit mode to reach semifinal 2.
Semi Final 2:
Qualifiers will play 2 lap circuit modes to reach final.
5. FINAL ROUND: Final round will be played on 3 maps. First one 2 lap circuit, 2nd one sprint and last one will be the world loop.
6. RESTRICTIONS: Use of R- key is against the rules and the players will disqualified. In final round Players should choose their own cars and customize them.
Note: Coordinators decision will the last decisions.

Rules & Regulations for Angry Bird:

Angry Invasion (Elimination Round):
1. There will be a single round to short list the number of participants.
2. The minimum number of points required to qualify for the next round would be 10000.
3. The finalist of this round will be considered for the next stage.

Piggy Pit (Round 2):
1. This is the semi- final round.
2. The minimum number of points required to qualify for the next round would be 50000.
3. The finalist of this round will be considered for the next stage.

Reprisal (Round 3):
1. This is the final round.
2. The winner will be awarded a cash prices

Roadies

Event Details:

It’s a challenge for testing an individual’s physical strength and presence of mind.

Rules and Regulations :

The event consists of three Levels.
Level 1: Elimination Round
• A Group Discussion will be organized to short list the candidates.

Level 2: Elimination Round
• Personal interview of the candidate (35-40) will be taken by the faculties.
• 10 candidates will be selected for the final level after the interview.

Level 3: Final Round
• It is a task solving round.
• Here 3 rounds takes place, Group task followed by vote out, individuals task followed by a vote out, and final round in which physical stamina, strength, quick and clever plan of action are tested.

Note: The decisions of the committee will be final.

War of Bands

Event Details :

Gear up for crazy screaming and jumping to the rocking tunes of music. The best talents across will rock the stage by throwing in their eclectic musical tones enough to create stir around and compete strongly to become the champions of WAR OF BANDS.

Rules and Regulations :

1. Bands need to register on the website with all the relevant details.
2. Bands are required to mail their Band profile along with the video links of their performances at the email addresses provided : utkrisht@tulasinstitute.edu.in
3. On the basis of the entries received, the top 6 bands will be selected to perform at the event.
4. The winner among the top 6 bands will be based on vocal skills, instrumental power, band coordination and most importantly the overall feel of the musical performance.
5. Bands are required to bring their own equipment. Only drum kit will be provided from our side.
6. Programmed music is allowed on the stage.
7. Organizers will not be responsible for failure of any kind of instruments of the band.
8. On stage time for bands : 5 minutes for sound-check + 25 minutes for performance.
9. Bands can have a maximum of 7 members and no member can be a part of more than one bands.
10. All songs have to be in Hindi or English only.
11. Final decision regarding any matter lies in the hands of the organizers and judges and is binding.
12. Any team violating the above rules is subject to direct elimination

Events

Ab-Initio (Ad Making)

Event Details :

It is an advertisement enactment event. Whole event will takes place in 2 hours. It is a single day event.

Rules & Regulations :

The event consists of two Rounds.
Round 1: Elimination Round
• It consists of 50 Questions (objective) based on the various brands, brand ambassadors, their punch lines, etc in the ad industry.
• No negative marking.
• Time Limit is 25 minutes.

Round 2: Final Round
• On the spot teams will be formed.
• Each team will be given an ad to enact.
• Time of 7 minutes (5 minutes will be given to think about the script of the ad and 2 minutes to enact the ad) to each team.
• The team will be given marks on the basis of the quality of the ad and time taken to perform it.
Note: The final winner team will be on the basis of team marks plus individual marks scored in Round 1.

Conference Hall (Top Floor).
Timing- 03:00 pm to 05.00 pm.

Adavya (MBA Case study Presentation) Day 2 Event

Event Details :

It is a Case Study Presentation Competition.

Rules and Regulations :

• Abstract as per guidelines to be submitted to given email utkrist@tulasinstitute.edu.in for selection before 4 days.
• Two Persons per Presentations.
• Selected persons are required to submit the full case study as well.
• Projector & white Board will be provided for presentation.
• 8 minutes will be given for presentation and 2 minutes will be for queries
• Directly copying from the internet is strongly discouraged.
• Comparative analysis, innovations and new thoughts will be given weightage for the final selection.

Topics of Case study presentations can be any of the following :

1. Climate Change and its effects.
2. Evolution and future of agriculture.
3. Inflation in India; Trend, Causes and Impact.
4. Economic inequality
5. Food Security in India.

B-Plan (Day 2 Event)

Event Detail :

It is a Management Event which focus on Business Proposals.

Rules and Regulations :

1. Participant can choose any idea of his/her choice.
2. Minimum 2 students in one team maximum 4.
3. All assumptions relating to B-Plan must be clearly laid down.
4. Minimum 8 and max 12 PPT slides should be there in the presentation.
5. Time limit for presenting the plan will be 15 mins.
6. Participants have to bring their own laptops or pendrives.
7. The plan should include :

  • Company Profile: Objective, Mission, Organizational structure, suitable locations and Facilities.
  • Product and services: Description about product and services, competitive comparison, technology.
  • Market Analysis: Strategy and pricing etc.
  • Financial Plans: Budgeting etc.

Brand Equity (MBA Quiz)(Day1 & Day2 Event)

Event Details :

It is a Management Quiz Competition.

Rules and Regulations :

Prelim
• Team of 2 members.
• Objective type questions will be there.
• Top 5 team’s giving the highest number of correct answers will be selected for the final round.

Mains
A direct question if not correctly answered by the team shall be passed on to the other teams in the entire round except the audio/visual and multiple choice rounds.
• 10 marks shall be awarded for a direct question answered correctly.
• 5 marks shall be awarded for a passed on question.
• In case of a tie, a tie-breaker question shall be asked.
• In case of a dispute the decision of jury shall be final and binding.

Extempore Competition

Rules and Regulations :

• Student will be asked to speak on the given topic on the spot. At random candidate has to pick up a chit.
• Topics: Technical, Political or social, or any situation.
• The person with maximum fluency and minimum errors will be the winner.
• Minimum time should be 5 minutes.
• Speaker cannot take pauses more than 10 seconds while speaking.
• Students will be judged on the basis of grammar and their speaking skills

Money Mania ( Day 1 Event)

Event Details :

In this Event participant has to earn the maximum Profit by selling the given products.

Rules and Regulations :

• It is a Team event.
• 2 participants in one team.
• One participant has to sell the product and other participant will record the selling strategy with his/her mobile phone. .
• Maximum profit earning team will be declared winner.
• Participants can sell the product within and outside the college campus.
• Profit earned and the recorded Video for selling should be submitted at announcement desk.

Adavya (Day 2 event)

Event Details :

It is a Technical PowerPoint Presentation Competition.

Rules & Regulations :

• Maximum 2 members per team.
• Create a PowerPoint presentation on any recent development in technology or new technology.
( Group 1 (CS/IT/MCA), Group 2 (ECE/EEE) & Group 3 (ME/Civil))
• Total time allotted for presentation: minimum- 7 minutes, maximum- 9 minutes,
• Query time- 3 minutes.
• Abstracts should be mailed at utkrist@tulasinstitute.edu.in , 6 days before event and selected participants will be intimated through e-mail 4 days before the event. Abstract should contain Title, Authors Name, Branch, Year, College Name and Group for which abstract is submitted.
• Subject of the mail should be word “ABSTRACT”.
• Selected teams will have to bring their presentations (softcopy) with them.
• Abstract limit: 150-200 words.

Advaita (Day 1 & 2 Event)

Event Details :

It is a Technical Quiz Competition.

Rules & Regulations :

• 2 members per team.
• It will consist of 2 Rounds: Round 1 will be on the 1st day & Round 2 will be on the 2nd day.

Round 1: Elimination Round
1. Total time allotted: 1 hr
2. It consists of a written test based on General Knowledge, Engineering, Aptitude & Current affairs.
3. The test comprises of 50 questions with the mark ratio of +3, -1.
4. Top 5 scoring teams will be selected for the final round.

Round 2: Final Round
• Total time allotted: 1 hrs.
• It will consist of the following:
• Audio/Visual Round: 1 Audio & 1 video question for each team. Hint Type round with varying marking. No negative marking.
• Rapid fire: 10 questions will be asked from each team in duration of 2 minutes. The team gets +10 for every right answer and -5 for every wrong answer. 0 marks for no answer.
• Academic quiz: One question will be asked to each team which should be answered within 1 minute. If not answered, the question passes to the next team. 20 marks are allotted for the right answer given by the first team, 10 marks are allotted for a passed question.

BRIDGE THE GAP( Day 1 event)

Event Details :

Model making (bridge) Competition.

Rules & Regulations :

It will consist of 2 Rounds
1. Only 4 peoples allowed in a team.
2. First round will be elimination round contestants have to make a leaning tower with given materials within 30 minutes.
3. Winners of first round will be decided on the basis of height of tower.
4. Winners of first round will qualify in final round where they will compete by making bridge with given materials within 70 minutes.
5. The dimensions of bridge are 15 cm length, 6 cm breadth 4 cm height.
6. No extra materials are permissible participants have to use only given materials otherwise their team will be disqualified.
7. Participants are required to bring their own scale for dimension measurement..
8. Winner of bridge making will be decided on the basis of its strength, dimensions and materials used.
9. Decision of judges will be final and no claim would be considered.

Catapult (Water Rocket) Day 2 Event

Event Details :

It is a Water Rocket Competition. It is a 1 day Event.

Rules and Regulations :

1. Maximum 2 members per team.
2. The prize will be awarded to best two rockets on the basis of the time of flight of the rocket.
3. Participants should bring the material required along with them – only nozzles will be provided.
4. Decisions taken by the committee will be final.

CIRCUIT TACKLE (Day 1 Event)

Event Details :

Circuit designing competition.

Rules & Regulations :

Round 1: Elimination Round
1. Maximum 3 & minimum 2 members per team.
2. Total time allotted half hour.
3. Objective type questions based on electrical and electronics.
4. The test comprises of 30 questions with maximum marks of 30. There will be a negative marking for every wrong answer.
5. Top 4 scoring teams will be selected for the final round.

Round 2: Final Round
1. The team will have to make a circuit model.
2. Circuit model will be based on basic electronics components but if your team comprises of a member from 3rd or 4th year then the difficulty level of model will increase.
3. Total time allotted: 60 mins.
4. Different circuit element will be provided to all the teams.
5. After circuit designing, judges will decide the winner of 1st and 2nd position
6. The decision of the judges will be final.

Debate (Day 1 Event)

Event Detail :

A team event

Rules and Regulations :

1. Two Speakers per team speaking For and Against the Motion.
2. There will be maximum 3 groups from host college.
3. There will be maximum 6 groups from external colleges.
4. Time for delivering speech is 3 mins + 30 sec additional.
5. There will be negative marking for time extensions.
6. The topic of the event will be given a day before the competition on college website.
7. One opponent asks only one question & no cross questioning is allowed.
8. Judgment will be based on the grammar, expressions, presentation, facts and query handling.

Dexter’s Lab (Day 1 & 2)

Event Details :

It is a Junk yard Competition. It is a 2 days event (Day 1- Prelims, Day 2- Final Level).

Rules and Regulations :

• Maximum 4 members per team.
• Round 1: Elimination Round – In this, 2 hrs time will be allotted and each team has to construct a model using the given material (Thermocol sheets, Ice-cream sticks etc.). Best 10 teams will be selected for final round.
• Round 2: Final Round – Materials will be provided (metal sheets, metal cutters, aluminium Sheets and wires etc.).

Miniature (Working Models) (Day 2)

Event Details :

It is a Working Model & Presentation Competition. It is a 1 day event (Presentation/Exhibition).

Rules & Regulations :

1. Maximum 4 members per team.
2. The Team has to present its working model.
3. Participants should bring their models on the day of fest.
4. Innovative Idea along is also Accepted.
5. The time of presentation is 6 minutes.
6. Best projects will be awarded in CASH.

Venue and Timing :

Venue – Physics lab
Timing – 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Prize :

First Winner will be awarded by prize money of INR 2500.
Participation certificate will be given to all participants.

Neurocode (Day 1 event)

Event Details :

It is a Coding Competition.
• C-Jung-e-elaan(): Coding in C Language
• javac.System.Reloaded: Coding in Java Language
• Spiderweb(.net): Coding in Dot Net

Rules & Regulations :

• 2 members per team and a team can participate in one language only.
• It will consist of three different segments i.e. C, Java, .Net.
• It will consist of 1 Rounds which will be on the 1st day

Round 1:
1. Total time allotted: 2 hrs.
2. On the spot programming based on given problem, set to test the programming skills of the participants.
3. Programs will be judged on the basis of minimum time taken, optimized code, logic used.

PHOTO FUNNIA (Day 1 & Day 2 Event)

Event Details :

It’s a photo clicking Competition. It’s a 2 days Event (Day 1- Clicking, Day 2- Clicking/Presentation).

Rules and Regulations :

1. Individual participation.
2. On the first day of the fest participant will be ask to click the photographs of the fest.
3. On the second day the participants will click and does the final display of the photos.
4. The participants will present the photos in the form of collage or by any attractive means.
5. The prize will be awarded to participants on the basis of the best presentation.
6. Participants should bring the material required along with them i.e. camera.
7. Decisions taken by the committee will be final.
8. Participants can present up to 5 collages to the judges.

ROBOTICS (DAY-1 EVENT)

LINE FOLLOWER ROBOT

Event Details :

White Line follower robot race competition.

Rules & Regulations :

• Maximum 4 members per team.
• Robot has to finish the race as soon as possible.
• Weight of the robot is max 5 kg. Width of the robot is max 200 mm, height max 200 mm. The robot shall not be dangerous. These criteria will be checked before the match. Any Robot which fails in any of them will not be allowed to compete.
• The robot has to be completely autonomous. Once a robot has crossed the starting line it must remain fully autonomous, or it will be disqualified.
• A robot that goes off of the line for over 15 seconds will be disqualified.
• External off-board power supply is allowed.
• If there’s a tie between the teams, a run-off will determine the winner.
• If nobody finish the run, the farthest one run on tracks will wins.
• Based on the number of participants or local conditions, the contest rules or the operating rules may be adapted by the organizers. Such changes shall be announced before the contest start and remain valid for the whole contest duration.
• The decisions of all officials regarding these rules and the conduct of the event shall be final.

ROBO BATTLE RACE

Event Detail :

Race and Combat between robots.

Rules & Regulations :

1. Maximum 4 members per team.
2. Weight of the robot is max 5 kg. Width of the robot is max 200 mm, height max 500 mm, and length 300 mm. The robot shall not be dangerous. These criteria will be checked before the match. Any Robot which fails in any of them will not be allowed to compete.
3. Maximum 4 robots at a time on arena.
4. Robots can be built using wheels, tracks and legs.
5. Motors ranging from 12 Volt to 24 Volt is allowed. (500rpm)
6. The robots can have weapons like any rotating weapons ,circular saws, carbon or steel cutting discs, but explosives, flames, firearms, corrosives, liquids, electronic devices – e.g. radio jamming, heat-guns, Tesla coils, Lego kit are banned. (max 3 weapons)
7. Power supply extension should be at least more than 4 meters.
8. Any moving or swinging arms – whether or not they hold sharp and/or rotating weapons – Must be fitted with a visible locking pin that shows the arm(s) is securely locked into place.
9. Robot can immobilize its opponent by any means.
10. Based on the number of participants or local conditions, the contest rules or the operating rules may be adapted by the organizers. Such changes shall be announced before the contest start and remain valid for the whole contest duration.
11. The decisions of all officials regarding these rules and the conduct of the event shall be final.

Track Information:
1. Robot has to finish the race ASAP, than they move to battle zone.
2. Tracks have hurdles, puzzles, conveyor belt (100rpm).
3. Tracks have inclination not more than 35-45 degree.
4. Puzzles may have spherical, triangular and cubical gap filling.
5. Hurdles will include pebbles, sand and spherical obstacles.
