This Lab gives general description of various devices which are working on the principals of thermodynamics and mechanics. In this lab, the students study about the behaviour of materials when they are subject to different kinds of forces and loads. Destructive tests are conducted on materials to measure their strengths such as tensile strength, compressive strength, shear strength, etc. This lab is equipped with apparatus like Universal Testing Machine, Torsion Testing Machine, Hardness Tester and other machines.

Our workshop basically equipped with combination of seven different shops respectively. Students perform their job with help of drawings, manuals and tools present in the shop. Each shop of our workshop are equipped with latest machine and for supervision each workshop has their individual technician expert in their fields.

This lab provides knowledge and importance of various properties of different materials through experimental operations. The materials are also studied under the microscope after going through processes like etching, annealing etc. Muffle furnace is provided to perform heat treatment processes such as annealing, hardening etc.

This lab equipped with

  • Injecting moulding machine.
  • Cutting , gridding , polishing ,etching machines for specimen preparation for micro- structural examination.
  • Micro structures of different specimen ( mild steel, Gray cast iron, brass, etc )
  • Muffle furnace.

This course aims at developing an understanding of the behavior of fluids in motion or at rest and the subsequent effects of the fluids on the boundaries, basic pressure and velocity measurement techniques, a variety of foundation-level fluid phenomena including boundary layers, wakes, laminar to turbulent transition, turbulence, flow separation, drag of a body, mass conservation, and surface pressure distributions.

The objective of the thermal engineering laboratory is to introduce the student the fundamental theories and industrial applications of thermodynamics. This laboratory supports the courses for the graduate studies. Moreover, this laboratory also supports the advanced research on biodiesel (prepared from edible and non-edible oils) in the area of thermal engineering.

This lab provides knowledge and importance various instrument which are used to measure engineering quantities. This lab describe the working principal of various instruments used in measurement such as sine bar, slip gauges, limit gauge ,etc.

This lab consists of different working models of different mechanisms, to explain and demonstrate the concept of mechanisms used in different parts of a machine. Working mechanisms gives an elaborate idea to the students and can relate to the theoretical concepts which are taught in the classroom.

Heat transfer is a basic and very important topic that deals with energy and has long been an essential part of mechanical engineering curricula all over the world. Heat transfer processes are encountered in a large number of engineering applications. It is essential for thermal engineers to understand the principles of thermodynamics and heat transfer and be able to employ the rate equations that govern the amount of energy being transferred. The different experiments in this laboratory enhance and add another dimension to the teaching/learning process of the subject of heat transfer. One of the objectives of this heat transfer laboratory is to familiarize the students with different experimental methods, techniques, and devices that can be employed to study heat transfer problems.

The objective of the Fluid Machinery laboratory is the study of the phenomena and effects of flow of fluids by using experimental measurements. The characteristics of different types of turbines and pumps are studied by the variation of different parameters.

This lab is equipped to perform the experiments including the performance and study of basic components used in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. RAC lab is equipped with various refrigeration systems such as Vapour Absorption System, Vapour compression system, Ice plant trainer, Electrolux system to furnish students with latest testing equipments and air conditioning systems.

In this lab, the students get familiar with various drafting and designing packages like Auto-cad, Pro-E, Solid Works and also CNC programming software. This Lab is equipped with CNC Lathe, CNC Milling and industrial robotic arm. Designing with the aid of computers enhance the skills of students in 2D as well as 3D modelling.

The Automobile Engineering lab has working models of different parts of the automobile. For instance, there are models of hydraulic brakes, pneumatic brakes, types of ignition systems, steering system, differential etc. The lab also has a working model of transmission system and 800cc engine which are used for live demonstration. This helps the students to grasp the concept of the working of different parts of an auto-mobile.
